Sebastian FuertesAI Backend Engineer

I design and ship scalable, cloud-native backends — and I'm now applying that foundation to AI: RAG pipelines, LLM-powered services, and agentic systems built to run reliably in production.

About

From backend systems to AI in production

I'm a backend Python developer with ~4 years building scalable, cloud-native services — API design with FastAPI and Flask, ETL pipelines, and event-driven architectures on AWS serverless (Lambda, Step Functions).

I'm now focused on the engineering layer of AI: taking large language models from a notebook demo to a reliable production service — retrieval pipelines, agents, evaluation and observability. My goal is to build AI systems with the same rigor I bring to backend: tested, measured, and operable.

The projects on this site are built to demonstrate exactly that — each one documented as a real case study, not a tutorial clone.
